Not Every Tree Needs to Come Down — But When It Does, We Do It Right

When is Tree Removal Necessary?
Most trees have a long life ahead of them with proper care. But some situations call for removal, and waiting tends to make them more complicated.
Dead or Severely Declining Trees. Once a tree dies, its structural integrity begins to deteriorate, sometimes faster than it appears from the outside. A dead tree near your home, driveway, or fence line is worth addressing before the weather or time decides for you.
Oak Wilt and Disease. Oak Wilt is one of the most serious tree diseases in Central Texas. When it has progressed far enough, removal becomes necessary, not just for the affected tree, but to reduce the risk of spread to healthy trees nearby. Our ISA-Certified Arborist Jeff can assess how far the disease has moved and what your realistic options are.
Storm Damage. A tree that's been split, uprooted, or structurally compromised in a storm may not be stable enough to recover, even if it still looks partially green. In these cases, removal is often the safest next step.
Leaning or Unstable Trees. Some lean is natural. A sudden or worsening lean, particularly after heavy rain or soil erosion, is worth having evaluated. Unstable trees near structures should not be left to resolve on their own.
Trees Too Close to Structures. When a root system or canopy is in direct conflict with a foundation, structure, or utility line, trimming alone may not be a long-term solution. Removal, followed by replanting in a better location, is sometimes the right answer.
Why Hiring a Certified Professional Matters
Tree removal is physically demanding, technically complex, and genuinely dangerous. The difference between a job done right and one done wrong can mean damage to your home, injury on-site, or liability that lands on you as the property owner.
An ISA-Certified Arborist brings more than equipment. Jeff is trained to assess how a tree will behave when it comes down, accounting for its weight distribution, surrounding structures, utility lines, and access. He oversees every removal and utilizes a highly trained team.
That level of oversight is not standard in this industry. At Leaf Tree Services, it's how every job runs.
